Beer lorries stolen from estate

The alcohol was stolen from a Gloucester trading estate
Thieves drove off with beer valued at nearly £250,000 after a raid on a warehouse in Gloucester.

The robbers broke into a building on the Quedgeley Trading Estate and stole four articulated lorries full of alcohol, police said.

The £70,000 vehicles contained large quantities of bottles and cans, mainly containing Stella Artois, Boddingtons and Becks.

Gloucestershire Police said the robbery happened in the early hours of Sunday.

A spokeswoman warned anyone offered cut-price alcohol to report it to police or face possible prosecution.

"People should be wary about who they buy their drink from, if they were offered alcohol from anyone other than a reputable dealer in suspicious circumstances," she said.

Three of the lorries stolen had blue and white curtains on their side, while the fourth had a red and white cab with blue curtains.

Each lorry is branded with the name Ainsworth and Martin Ltd.
