Cheltenham's Odeon cinema has closed after more than 70 years in business.
In its heyday, leading bands such as the Beatles and Rolling Stones played live on stage at the venue in Winchcombe Street.
But the picture house has had a huge slump in profits since the recent opening of Cineworld multiplex in the nearby Brewery Centre.
In September, staff were given 30 days to turn around its fortunes, but the cinema closed on Sunday night.
Nick Eggington, who was the Odeon's manager for 22 years said: "People have told me they've got fond memories of the cinema, and the live shows when it was a single auditorium, when we had the Beatles and Count Basey among the acts."
