Not all of the fireworks taken have been accounted for
A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of a "substantial quantity" of fireworks taken from a shop in Cheltenham.

The 21-year-old from Cheltenham was arrested following the discovery of large haul of fireworks after a house in Hesters Way was raided on Thursday.

Police believe a "considerable amount" of fireworks are still missing and are appealing for information.

There are concerns the fireworks may have become damaged during the theft.

A Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue spokesman said if they have been stored or handled incorrectly they could explode when lit causing injuries or fatalities.

The recovered fireworks are thought to have be part of the haul stolen from a shop in Evesham Road during the night of 31 October.
