Boy dies in high street collision
An 11-year-old boy has been killed in a road accident in the Forest of Dean.

He was struck by a Ford Fiesta car, driven by a 21-year-old woman, on the old A48 High Street in Lydney on Wednesday afternoon.

The boy was taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The road was closed for more than four hours while investigations were carried out. Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident.
