Nursery staff cleared over death

Molly became entangled in a cloth bag in her cot
An investigation into the death of a toddler at a nursery in Gloucester has concluded staff were not to blame.

Molly Cunliffe became entangled in a cloth bag in her cot last October and died at Bristol Children's Hospital.

The result of the investigation by the police and the government education inspectors, Ofsted, means the nursery is now free to re-open.

The parents of 16-month-old Molly are urging the owners of the Tiddlywinks Nursery to close out of respect.

Staff gave the toddler the kiss of life and she was treated at Bristol Children's Hospital but died two weeks later.

At the time, a nursery spokesman said Molly was in a fully-monitored cot room so staff were able to respond immediately.
