Traders fighting to save an indoor market have collected more than 6,000 signatures in support of their campaign in a week.
The Eastgate Indoor Market in Gloucester is under threat because of a dip in takings.
The city council, which owns the site, says it is no longer as profitable as it once was and may have to be moved.
But traders say the market is part of the city's heritage, and thousands of local people want it to stay.
