A teenager has died after being hit by two cars which failed to stop in the Matson area of Gloucester.
The accident happened on Saturday evening as the 17-year-old was walking in Norbury Avenue.
He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, but died shortly afterwards from his injuries.
Police are appealing for information about the two cars. One is white in colour, the other is described as a white or silver saloon.
Close succession
It is believed the teenager, who was from nearby Abbeydale, was hit by the two cars in close succession.
The road was shut for about five hours while an investigation took place at the scene. The coroner has been informed.
Detective Chief Inspector Pete Davis, who is leading the investigation, said: "This is a tragic incident, involving the untimely death of a young man whose loved ones are naturally devastated.
"We must find the drivers involved and I would first of all like to ask them to come forward and identify themselves.
"I would then ask anyone else with information on the incident or those involved to ring us.
"Any information, no matter how trivial it may seem, could prove potentially vital in this investigation."
