A man has been left with cuts after a "particularly vicious" assault at a Gloucestershire beauty spot.
A 30-year-old man was dragged from his VW Polo at the viewing spot on top of Birdlip Hill early on Saturday morning and beaten by three men.
They then stole the victim's car and left a Vauxhall Astra which had been earlier stolen in Cheltenham.
The burnt-out remains of the victim's car were found in Cheltenham later on Saturday morning.
Police say the man was taken to Cheltenham General Hospital for treatment.
He suffered bruising to his face and cuts to his head and mouth.
