Guitarist will be cast in stone
Brian Jones
Jones died in 1969
A statue of the Rolling Stones' rock legend Brian Jones is to be erected in his home town of Cheltenham.

The guitarist, who died in 1969 aged 27, was born and is buried in the town.

The Cheltenham-based Brian Jones Fan Club has been campaigning for years for a statue to be put up in the town's Promenade.

It now looks likely that the statue will be erected in the town's Beechwood shopping centre, with the official unveiling in the coming weeks.
