A man who found a dead greyhound after it had apparently been kicked to death has described the people who killed the animal as "beasts".
The animal was found on Friday, in a service lane in Cheltenham.
The injuries - consistent with severe kicking - included severe bruising and under-skin bleeding in the groin area.
Michael Willoughby who found the carcass, said: "Greyhounds are more trusting than most breeds We have to catch the beasts that did this."
"I believe the RSPCA inspected it and found the tongue swollen and black ," he added.
