The inquest into a man who was found dead in the River Severn in Gloucestershire with his hands and feet bound has been opened and adjourned.

Gloucester coroner's court heard David Hall, 20, had been found in the river on 10 April near the Anchor Inn, Epney.

Mr Hall, whose address was given as the YMCA in Worcester, was identified through dental records.

Gloucestershire Police have said the death was not being treated as suspicious following an investigation.

The case is due to be reopened on 18 August.

A police spokeswoman said: "Because of the circumstances in which the body was found, we know people will think it is suspicious, but we are satisfied it is not.

"We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the case."
