Four injured people were trapped when two cars collided at a busy roundabout in north Gloucestershire on Saturday.
One man was released from the wreckage by firefighters and flown to hospital by air ambulance.
A second man and two women who had managed to get out by the time the rescue crews arrived were taken to hospital by ambulance.
The A46 and A435 junction at Teddington Hands, Aston Cross, near Tewkesbury, was closed for more than two hours.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash was at 0826 BST.
