One dead after crash

One person has died in a car crash near Cirencester in Gloucestershire.

Two vehicles collided on the A420 at Shooters Hill on Saturday, leaving several people injured.

A Lotus Elise was overtaking another car when it collided with a red Mercedes coming the other way, say police.

The driver of the Elise died instantly, and those in the Mercedes were taken to Cheltenham General Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed for five hours and police are appealing for witnesses.
