Three post offices set to reopen

A post office restoration campaign is under way in Essex with three branches set to reopen this month.

The three are located in The Street in White Notley, Allnutts Road in Epping and Berechurch Road in Colchester.

All were shut two years ago as part of a Post Office programme and will reopen under a county council initiative.

They will also provide information points to connect to Essex County Council services, directgov websites, NHS direct and local interest sites.

Kevin Bentley, deputy cabinet member with responsibility for post offices, said: "The Essex post office initiative is continuing to gather momentum.

"Further post office openings will be announced in the new year once dates have been confirmed."
