Charges over teenager death crash

A woman has been charged with causing the death of a teenager in Essex by careless driving.

Gary Pitchford, 17, from Speedwell Road in Colchester, suffered fatal injuries when the car he was in hit a tree in Abberton Road, Langenhoe, on 18 May.

The 18-year-old woman from Colchester has also been charged with causing death while uninsured and causing death while unlicensed.

She will appear at Harwich Youth Court on 18 November.
