Woman dies in three-vehicle crash

A 19-year-old woman has been killed in a collision involving two cars and a lorry in Essex.

The incident happened on Monday when a lorry overturned on top of a Ford Ka on the A414 at Ongar, police said.

After skidding, the lorry was in collision with a Skoda. The Ka driver was taken to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The lorry driver, 54 and from Luton, Bedfordshire, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Crews took the 64-year-old Skoda driver, from Chelmsford, to hospital with a fractured wrist and cuts and bruises.

The road was closed while investigations took place and vehicles were recovered.
