Man stabbed by group and run over

A man is in intensive care after being stabbed several times and run over during an attack in Essex.

The man, who is in his 50s and from Jaywick, was attacked by a group of men in Broadway, Colchester, at about 1800 on Saturday.

Police believe that he and one of his attackers were then struck by a red Ford Fiesta.

Two women and a youth have been arrested in connection with the attack, officers said.

All three are being questioned on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Detectives said they believe they know the identities of others involved in the attack and have preserved the scene for forensic examination.

The man is at Colchester Hospital and is described as being in a serious but stable condition.
