Paratroopers 'stripped soldier'

A 19-year-old soldier was stripped naked, handcuffed and held down by five paratroopers on duty in Afghanistan, a military court has heard.

The hearing was told the soldier, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was "humiliated" and called a coward.

He was then indecently assaulted as other soldiers looked on, the court martial in Colchester, Essex, heard.

The five paratroopers all deny "disgraceful conduct of an indecent kind".

Cpl Simon Scott, L/Cpl Peter McKinley, L/Cpl Jamie Morton, L/Cpl Ian Greenslade and Pte Christopher Martin denied the charge.

Prosecutors said the incident, which happened in autumn of 2006, was photographed and videoed.

The court was shown photographs of the soldier lying naked with his hands and ankles bound.
