Home damaged in 'suspicious' fire

The Essex home of a couple and their three children has been destroyed in a fire.

The family escaped unharmed from the property at Little Canfield and have now been given emergency accommodation by Uttlesford District Council.

The cause of the blaze is thought to be suspicious but police and fire service investigators are to search the remains of the building later.

Firecrews also managed to rescue the family's pet hamster.
