Motorcyclist killed in road crash

A motorcyclist died when his motorbike left the road and crashed in Essex.

The 48-year-old from Chelmsford was riding along Wood Street in the town on Monday night when the accident happened, Essex Police said.

A police spokesman said no other vehicles were involved in the accident and no one else was injured. The man's identity has not been released.

Officers investigating the crash, which happened just before 2300 GMT, appealed for witnesses to contact them.
