Man, 45, is charged with murder

A 45-year-old man has been charged with murder after a stabbing incident in Essex on Friday evening.

James Pearson, of High Street, Benfleet, is due to appear at Southend Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Police called to an address in the High Street, Benfleet, found a man with stab wounds. He was taken to Southend General Hospital where he died later.

A post-mortem examination revealed Daniel Berry, 33, of Linden Way, Canvey Island, died from a single stab wound.
