More strikes by luggage workers

The strikes are due to take place on 19, 22 and 25 September

Three more days of strikes by workers who scan luggage at Stansted airport in Essex have been announced.

The GMB said its members will walk out on 19, 22 and 25 September in protest at a 2% pay offer.

The workers went on strike on Bank Holiday Monday, although the airport said flights were not affected.

GMB official Gary Pearce said other workers at Stansted, including baggage handlers, received bigger pay rises this year.

"Our members want the same pay rise - we will not settle for less," he said.
