Two held after body found in flat

Two people have been arrested after the body of a man, believed to in his 50s, was found at a flat in Essex.

The discovery of a man with multiple injuries was made at about 0200 BST at the flat in Military Road, Colchester.

A 34-year-old man of no fixed address and a 33-year-old Colchester woman are being questioned by police.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on Saturday but the man will not be identified until his next of kin are traced, police said.

An appeal has been made for anyone with information who was in the area on Thursday night to contact police.
