Cold case review of double death

The murder of a mother and child ten years ago is to be examined again by Essex police.

Jean Trigg and her five-year-old son Anthony died in an arson attack at a house in Clacton, Essex, in July 1998.

Eight people, including six children, were in the house in Church Crescent when the fire broke out.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the deaths, but no one has been charged, a spokesman for Essex Police said.

Mrs Trigg, 27, had moved with her two sons to Clacton from Salford, Greater Manchester, about five weeks before the fire.

She had been staying with friends while she looked for a new home for herself, Anthony and her other son Callum.
