A woman has been charged with plotting to pervert the course of justice in connection with the death of another woman in an arson attack.

Kerry Youngs, 24, died after a fire was started on the floor below the flat where she lived with her partner Kevin Chapple. He was left with brain damage.

A 39-year-old woman has now been charged over the incident at Bush Fair, Harlow, Essex, in May 2005.

She is due to appear before magistrates in Harlow on 7 August.

Another woman and two youths, who were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the arson attack, have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Ms Youngs died in hospital two days after the fire.

Her partner, Mr Chapple, now requires 24-hour care and the liklihood is that he will require care for the rest of his life, a police spokesman said.
