Charges brought over sex offences

A man has been charged in connection with a number of sex offences over four years in an Essex town, police said.

A woman aged in her 90s awoke in September 2004 to find a man had entered her Basildon home and was indecently exposing himself.

Similar incidents where a man was seen exposing himself in streets and gardens occurred over the following years.

Neville Green, 44, of Minster Road, Basildon, has been charged by police and remanded in custody.

Mr Green was charged with one count of burglary, eight counts of indecent exposure and nine counts of recklessly trespassing on premises in order to commit a sexual act.

He is due to appear before Basildon magistrates later.
