River search for missing teenager

A search is underway in the Thames Estuary off Grays beach in Essex after a teenager went missing while swimming.

Police said Adunayo Shittu, 18, was dragged under the water by a strong current on Tuesday evening while swimming in the river at Grays.

Police, coastguards and marine units began searching the area but had to suspend the search overnight due to fading light.

Officers are also currently searching the coastline for the teenager.
