Police event tackles equine crime

Horse owners and riders can see the latest equestrian security products at an event organised by Essex Police mounted unit.

The crime prevention day on 29 May at Towerlands equestrian centre, Braintree will have examples of tack marking, hoof branding and micro-chipping.

Police officers and Horsewatch members will also be on hand to offer advice.

Police said tack, trailers and horses worth thousands of pounds were reported missing or stolen every year.
