Children's illustrator Quentin Blake and cartoonist Ronald Searle have received honorary doctorates from Anglia Ruskin University.
They received the awards at ceremonies at the University, based in Essex and Cambridgeshire.
More than 1,500 students graduated from the university - which has campuses in Chelmsford and Cambridge - in November.
Blake read English at Downing College, Cambridge, while Searle studied at the Cambridge School of Art.
Blake is best known for his illustrations for children's books by Roald Dahl.
Anglia Ruskin University's Vice Chancellor Professor Michael Thorne presented the award to Blake, but Searle - the creator of St Trinians - lives in France and was unable to attend.
