Scouts' farewell after jamboree
Prince William sits in traditional tent of Saudi Arabia during the opening ceremony
Prince William met scouts from all over the world at the event
Thousands of young people from around the world are leaving Essex after 12 days marking the 100th anniversary of the scout movement's founding.

Hylands Park in Chelmsford played host to the 21st World Scout Jamboree with visitors including Prince William.

Essex County Council leader Lord Hanningfield said the park had been transformed into a mini-town "almost like one world".

He added: "It has been an incredible experience for Essex."

The Scouting Movement was founded by Lord Robert Baden-Powell in 1907, and the first camp was set up on Brownsea Island in Dorset.

Prince William launched the festival in Essex with the Duke of Kent, who is president of the Scout Association, before being taken on a tour of the site.
