Second man dies after pier jump

Five men were seen to jump off Clacton Pier in Essex
A second man has died in hospital five days after jumping into the sea off a pier in Essex.

The two men, both believed to be in their 40s, were found face down in the sea by lifeboat crews after jumping off a pier at Clacton, Essex, on 7 July.

They were flown to hospital where one of they died soon afterwards.

The second man, from the Clacton area, died in Colchester General Hospital on Thursday night. A post-mortem examination is taking place later.

Emergency services were alerted at about 1830 BST on 7 July when five men, fully clothed, reportedly jumped in.
