Essex is luckiest lotto postcode
Two towns in Essex have come out top in a list naming the luckiest National Lottery postcodes.

Figures from National Lottery operator Camelot put Ilford at the top of the lucky list as the proportion of jackpot winners to players is one in 7,501.

Romford has had one major prize-winner per 7,765 people, winning a total sum of £118,612,189.90.

The figures are calculated from the number of lottery windfalls per area since the competition launched.

Medway in Kent, was third, Dartford, also in Kent, was fourth, Liverpool was fifth, Watford sixth, Swindon seventh, Dumfries in Scotland, eighth, East London ninth and Newcastle upon Tyne tenth.
