Three quizzed after wheel death

Three people have been arrested in connection with the death of an 84-year-old woman in a road accident.

Noris Smith was struck by a wheel which came loose from a trailer being towed by a tractor in Ashingdon Road, Rochford, Essex, on Monday morning.

Two men - aged 55 and 64 - were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A woman in her 50s was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, police said.

All three have been bailed until 6 September.
