Unexploded WWII bomb discovered
A 200lb unexploded World War II bomb was found in a quarry, police said.

The device was discovered close to Painters Road in Hainault, Essex, on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers put a cordon in place and the A12 was closed briefly to allow the Royal Engineers to reach the scene and defuse the bomb.

On Wednesday a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said there had been no evacuations and the incident had caused only minimal disruption.
