Woman, 82, dies after collision

A 25-year-old man has been questioned and released on bail in connection with a fatal road accident on Friday.

Joan Barker, 82, from Parry Drive in Clacton, Essex, collided with a Blue Renault Saxo which failed to stop on Caernavon Road at 1300 GMT.

The injured woman was taken by air ambulance to Colchester General Hospital for treatment but died on Saturday morning.

Police have appealed for witnesses who may have seen the accident or the car.
