A golf club in Essex has told how a nine-year-old boy scored a hole in one during his first round.
Chay Robinson, of Holland-on-Sea, Essex, was playing the 126-yard seventh hole at Frinton Golf Club in Frinton, when he found the perfect shot.
"He'd had a couple of lessons but this was his first proper round and he hit a hole in one on the seventh," said Scott Rushbridge, from the club.
Many adults play golf all their life and never get a hole in one, he added.
'Good eye'
"Fortunately there were quite a few adults around who saw it otherwise I don't think anyone would have believed him.
"It's a tremendous achievement... I've never heard of anyone doing this.
"He's a very sporty boy. He plays football and he's obviously got a good eye.
"He's now paid his fees and has become a junior member but he hasn't scored another hole in one."
