Rescue teams search for climber
Mountain rescue teams and an RAF helicopter have been called out to search for an Essex man who is feared lost on Ben Nevis in Scotland.

The 38-year-old solo climber, who is from the Colchester area, left the Glen Nevis Youth Hostel on Friday morning and failed to return.

His personal belongings are still at the hostel. He planned to climb on the north face of the mountain.

There is a high avalanche risk in the search area.

The search and rescue operation for the missing climber is being co-ordinated by Northern Constabulary Police at Fort William.

The RAF helicopter has been scrambled from RAF Lossiemouth.
