Staff suspension at women's jail
Bullwood Hall
Bullwood Hall was praised for its programmes, but not its toilets
A member of staff at Bullwood Hall prison in Essex has been suspended for "inappropriate behaviour", the Home Office confirmed on Thursday.

The male employee was suspended from the jail in Hockley on 15 January.

The spokeswoman said an internal investigation had begun and police had been contacted.

The women's jail was named one of the best performing prisons in the UK in a report by the Independent Monitoring Board, published in December.
