Missing French hotel chef found
Sylvain Huynh-Tan
Sylvain Huynh-Tan went missing from an Essex hotel
A French chef who went missing from the Essex hotel where he worked, leaving blood in his room, has returned to his home country, police have revealed.

Colleagues of 22-year-old Sylvain Huynh-Tan at the Five Lakes Hotel in Tolleshunt Knights, Maldon, raised the alarm when he failed to show for work.

When they checked his room on Saturday, they found blood on his floor and in the adjoining bathroom.

Police searched the hotel grounds using tracker dogs and a helicopter.

'Significant amount'

On Sunday night, Essex Police said they had found out Mr Huynh-Tan had been located in France.

A spokesman had said the amount of blood found in his room was "significant and worrying".

Interviews with hotel staff had shed no further light on the investigation, he added.
