A man has appeared in court charged with raping a 74-year-old woman and burgling her Essex home.
Cuthbert Flavien, 44, of Bow, east London, also faced a charge of indecent assault when he appeared at Havering Magistrates Court in Romford.
The attack is alleged to have taken place in the Romford area on 17 November this year.
Mr Flavien was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey in London on 10 December.
