A 42-year-old man is being questioned by police in Harlow on suspicion of manslaughter after the death of a man over the weekend.
Martin Johnson, 46, from Harlow, died in hospital on Sunday after suffering a serious head injury in an incident at Bush Fair in Harlow on 21 May.
Detectives had charged the man with causing grievous bodily harm.
An Essex Police spokesman said the man had been re-arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
