School calls for toilet rolls
Toilet rolls
The school is appealing for toilet rolls
A primary school is asking parents to donate toilet rolls so it has more cash to spend on educating pupils.

Ghyllgrove Infants School in Basildon, Essex, is facing a budget deficit of more than 10,000 and is set to lose two staff through voluntary redundancy in September.

A spokesman for Essex County Council said: "Like many other schools Ghyllgrove has serious financial problems and is trying to save as much money as it can on small items so it has as much as possible to spend in the classroom.

"Schools have to do what they can in situations like this.

"Essex had one of the smallest cash increases and across the county we are looking at 60 to 70 redundancies in schools."
