New plea to trace husband missing from Dorset home

There have been no sightings of Mr Silvey since 29 January

The distraught wife of a man who has been missing for more than a month has asked people living on the coast of Hampshire and Dorset for help.

David John Silvey, 62, who has a heart condition, was last seen by his wife, Jackie, at their home in Burton, Christchurch, on 29 January.

Mrs Silvey said he went out for a walk in the evening and never returned.

She said he loved the coast, and asked people living on the shoreline to search sheds and beach huts.

Mrs Silvey added: "It's the not knowing where he is that hurts - and the fact that no-one has seen him - I just can't stop trying to find him. I love him so much.

No medication

"It is also possible that David might be staying somewhere with someone's help - possibly without that person realising that he is missing - and if this is the case then I'd urge David and anyone who is helping him to please call."

She said he left with only the clothes he was wearing, did not take his phone, money, keys or heart medication.

Mr Silvey is 5ft 7in and of average build with close cropped receding hair. He was last seen wearing a green duffle coat, jeans and black shoes.

Pc Simon Evans said: "It's so sad to see the effect this has had on Jackie and her family, and how distraught she regularly is.

"It's vital that anyone who has any information about David or his whereabouts contacts the police - no matter how insignificant that information may seem to be."
