New home for emergency services

The Civic Centre station will close for good on Wednesday 16 December

A new police and fire station is due to open in Dorset next week.

Poole police station is due to move from its home at the town's Civic Centre into new premises in Wimborne Road on Thursday, 17 December.

The new Joint Emergency Services Building will be shared with Dorset Fire and Rescue.

The site near Poole Stadium will have an increased cell capacity of 24, compared with the 14 cells at the Civic Centre.

Police station opening hours will remain the same from 0700 to 0000 GMT Sunday to Thursday, and from 0700 GMT to 0100 GMT on Fridays and Saturdays.

The existing station will close for good on Wednesday, 16 December.
