Knifeman robs town centre bookies

A knife-wielding robber threatened staff at a Dorset bookmakers before making off with cash.

The robber targeted BetFred in Commercial Road, Bournemouth, at about 1000 GMT and then fled the scene.

The Dorset Police helicopter was scrambled afterwards in a bid to track down the man, who was wearing green-brown jacket, a grey hat and scarf.

No-one was injured during the robbery in which police said an "amount" of cash was stolen.
