Woman killed in fuel tanker crash

A 70-year-old woman has been killed in a collision with a petrol tanker in Dorset.

The driver, from Bournemouth, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene of the crash in Mill Street, on the A31 in Wimborne.

The 44-year-old male tanker driver, from South Wales, was travelling to Bere Regis when the collision happened at about 2000 GMT on Thursday.

Police closed the road for several hours and are appealing for witnesses.

The crash happened at the junction with the B3074, Blandford Road.
