Doctors targeted in obscene calls

Nurseries, dentists and doctors' surgeries across Dorset have been targeted by someone making obscene phone calls.

Dorset Police said it was investigating a series of calls made in the last month to addresses in Bournemouth, Poole, Bridport and Blandford.

Officers are appealing for anyone who has received a call and has not already reported it to contact police.

The most recent calls took place on Wednesday lunchtime.

So far 13 calls have been reported. All were made by a man and were of a graphic sexual nature. Police believe the calls are linked.

Det Con Tom Isaac, of Weymouth CID, said: "We are investigating the origin of these upsetting and offensive phone calls and are pursuing the offender but as always we do need the help of the public."

Anyone receiving the calls should try to record them and report it to their telephone service provider so the number can be logged.
