Two escape garden wall car crash

Firemen with the car next to wall
Councillor Oliver, who lives close to the scene, witnessed the collision.

A car carrying two people has crashed into a front garden wall in Dorset causing structural damage.

The accident happened at about 1900 BST on Saturday in Lewens Lane, Wimborne, next to a doctor's surgery at Rodways Corner.

The two people in the car escaped with minor injuries in what witnesses describe as being a "lucky escape".

Fire crews made the vehicle safe while council workmen cordoned off the damaged wall.

Councillor Anthony Oliver, who witnessed the collision, told BBC News: "Some of the wall was spread across the front garden of the house with one section landing over 20ft from its original position and less than 5ft from the lounge window of the house."
