Robbers target foreign students

Five foreign students have been targeted by a group of teenagers in three separate incidents in Dorset.

The male victims, aged between 17 and 23, are students from abroad studying in Bournemouth and were targeted in the early hours of Saturday.

In the first incident a French student was punched in the face and had his mobile phone stolen by a group of young men and women near Seabourne Road.

Police have stepped up patrols in the area and appealed for information.

Crooked front teeth

Soon after the first robbery, a 16-year-old Spanish student, who had witnessed the first attack, had his wallet stolen.

His 17-year-old friend was also robbed of his mobile phone.

A 17-year-old German student who was walking home with a 22-year-old Swiss student was then attacked in Beaufort Road.

The main offender is described as white, 5ft 7ins (1.7m) tall, with short dark hair, crooked front or false teeth and wearing a blue and white baseball cap.

Det Con Steve May, of Bournemouth CID, said: "Although this investigation is at an early stage, I am interested in any information which may lead to the identity of this group of local teenagers.

"I am very keen to speak with a man who was present at the time, and is described as having very crooked front teeth."
