The mother of a telecoms salesman who was left unconscious in a Bournemouth alley has told of the impact the attack has had on her family. Nicolas Verron, 25, from Bournemouth, was left with life-threatening head injuries after the attack in Roumelia Lane, Boscombe, early on Saturday. His mother, Sue, said the situation was "crushing" his younger brother. A 17-year-old appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with attempted murder. He was remanded in custody and is due before Poole Youth Court on Thursday. 'Highly successful' Mr Verron is currently in a critical condition at Southampton General Hospital's neurological unit. Speaking from his bedside, his mother said his younger brother, 22-year-old Alex, was "absolutely devastated by this". She said: "It's crushing him. "Nick is a highly successful telecoms salesman and he's had friends, colleagues and school friends keeping up a constant stream of visitors at his bedside. He's also had messages of support from all over the world. "There has been so much kindness shown by people who know him as well as people who don't." She thanked passers by who stopped to give her son first aid at the scene.
